Toys for Tots Puts a Smile on the Faces of 10,000 Children
Provided By Ambito

Thousands of smiles shone on the faces of children last Monday, January 8, as over 10,000 toys were given away to kids in the poorest communities of the Puerto Vallarta municipality. At the parking lot of the Marriot CasaMagna Puerto Vallarta Resort, volunteers assembled very early in the morning to bring months of hard work to completion, with only the smiles of children in mind.

In a friendly atmosphere, the journey’s kick off was marked with hot chocolate and traditional Kings’ cake, compliments of Marriot for the body of volunteers to gain strength for a long day.

As early as 6:00 a.m. motorcades were organized mainly among three Navy commands and over 100 volunteers which were assigned one of ten routes to Cabo Corrientes, Boca de Tomatlan, Mismaloya, Las Palmas del Progreso, El Progreso, 12 de Octubre, Los Volcanes, Las Mojoneras, Magisterio, Loma Bonita, Joyas del Pedregal, Las Palmas, Soyatan, Tebelchia, the sierra region up to San Sebastian, Mezcalitos, Laguna, Tondoroque, Higuera Blanca and Sayulita, Guamuchil, San Quintin, San Ignacio, La Peñita, El Colomo, La Ceiba, El Carrizo, Los Sauces, Agua Milpa. Balls, dolls and many other toys filled the vehicles thanks to the effort and commitment of the community and institutions that sponsored the 8th Golf Tournament and Gala Dinner, such as Casa Magna Marriot Puerto Vallarta Resort, the Mexican Navy, Vista Vallarta Golf Club, Continental Airlines, the American Consular Agency, the International Friendship Club, Coldwell Banker and Scotia Bank.

Toys for Tots will continue to raise smiles as two playgrounds are to be installed in needy communities.

IFC Announces New North Shore - Home Tour
Provided By Ambito

The North Shore Home Tour is being launched Tuesday, January 30 for local charities by the International Friendship Club [IFC] of Puerto Vallarta. This four- hour tour, by private bus, will feature 3-4 unusual, magnificent and awesome homes in the Marina area, Nuevo Vallarta, extending as far as Punta de Mita, and ending with an enjoyable lunch. (The IFC also conducts a Home & Garden Tour south of the city each Wednesday and Thursday featuring 2-3 homes and a visit to the Botanical Gardens.) Both tours will run through mid-April.
