Riviera Nayarit – A Consolidated Destination December 2009.
It is a surprising fact that only two years of efficient marketing have allowed the Riviera Nayarit to become a magnificently well positioned destination, a place with 192 miles of beautiful and spectacular beaches in the Mexican Pacific. This, as mentioned in different international media, without the support of movies being filmed there, like “The Night of the Iguana” that greatly contributed to place Puerto Vallarta in the international tourism map.
As stated by Richard Zarkin, Public Relations Director of Nayarit’s Conventions and Visitors Bureau, more than 70% of American travel agents are acquainted with the Riviera Nayarit destination. In three years we have positioned what it took Puerto Vallarta 15 years.
Riviera Nayarit is formed by: Nuevo Vallarta, Flamingos, Bucerias, Punta Mita, Litibu, Sayulita, San Pancho among other beautiful and picturesque towns in the mountainous Mexican pacific coast in the state of Nayarit.
The region keeps attracting a great number of visitors that arrive at Puerto Vallarta’s international airport. Richard Zarkin mentions that presently 62% of arrivals belong to the Riviera Nayarit. Although the recession temporarily stopped the pace of construction, all developments are open and working in a timely manner.
